Rubber pulley laggings are primarily used improve traction capacity, resist abrasive conditions and extend pulley and belt life. The style of lagging required is usually influenced by operating conditions. We offer a comprehensive range of pulley laggings to meet all possible conveyor installations.

Raw rubber sheets formed in our dispersion kneaders, mixing mills calendaring machine, and then lagged on the pulleys. The pulleys are then vulcanized under pressure in the autoclaves. The time and temperature of vulcanization are dependent on the size and weight of the rollers, the thickness of rubber lining and the compound used for lining. This method of curing the rubber gives a better-quality lining, with fewer joints and improved adhesion to the pulley, when compared to using pre-cured sheets.

We also apply grooving on the lagged pulleys, based on the application needs: herringbone, chevron and diamond grooving.

Vessels used in a wide range of applications, from chemical storage to vibration sorting machines need to be protected for long term use. Lining these with rubber provides strong abrasive and corrosive resistance. At Bhavick we provide rubber linings from both natural and neoprene elastomers based on the client and application needs. The process used for lining is very similar to that of pulley lagging and the finish and quality of the seal is just as good.

During both the lagging and lining process, we carry out tests to ensure that the quality and consistency in hardness is maintained throughout the application. Once the process is finished, we test sheet adhesion and carry out a spark test to ensure there are no breaks in the lagging/lining.
